Posted on Friday March 29, 2019

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that culvert repairs and drainage improvements to Illinois 59 south of Signal Hill Road and just to the east on Illinois 22 over Chungs Creek/Honey Lake Drain, in North Barrington, will begin, weather permitting, Tuesday, April 2.

In order to complete the work, Illinois 59 will have intermittent, daily lane closures.

Illinois 22 will be reduced to one, narrower lane controlled by temporary traffic signals starting, weather permitting, May 1.

The work in both locations is expected to be complete by the end of August.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
