Yard waste is collected weekly beginning April 1st through November 30th. Yard waste is picked up the same days as regular garbage. Leaves, grass clippings, small twigs and landscape debris should be bagged in biodegradable paper yard waste bags available at numerous retail outlets. Yard waste placed in plastic bags will not be collected. A yard waste sticker must be applied to the top of each bag where it can be viewed by the Waste Management crew. The sticker cost is $1.75 each.  Normally stickers are also sold at ReMax NOW in the Market Place; however, their office is currently closed due to COVID-19. Mower Works at 22166 N. Hillview Drive, corner of Hillview and Northwest Highway is open for business and is another location to purchase yard waste stickers. Their hours are Monday - Friday from
8 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Brush and branch material should be placed at the curb in bundles not exceeding two (2) feet in diameter and four (4) feet in length and tied with string or twine. Waste Management will not collect brush and branches that are not bundled. Branches should not exceed 3" in diameter. A sticker must be applied to each bundle where it can viewed by the Waste Management crew. If you have any questions regarding branch/brush collection, please do not hesitate to contact Waste Management at (800) 964-8988.  Note:  Yard waste stickers are NOT REQUIRED for the month of November.

The open burning of leaves and small branches on private property owned or occupied by the person conducting such burning shall be permitted without a permit, but only between October 1 and May 31, inclusive, and only between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. provided that the requirements of 307.1(b)(2) and (b)(3) and 307.3(e) are fully complied with.  See the Village Fire Code for more information on open burning.
