Mosquito Control

In light of COVID-19 impacts to the Village budget, we will only have Clarke Environmental Mosquito Management perform surveillance and monitoring of the mosquito population.

The timing of the treatments is dependent upon their findings from surveillance traps in the area, and combined with insights from predictive software to time adult mosquito treatments to offer the most relief. Primarily, these treatments are based on disease risk.

Treatments may include adulticide, larvicide (paid by
Lake Barrington for Wauconda Township portions of the Village and by Cuba Township for their residents), and pellets for stormwater catch basins.

Please use the Resident Hotline for Clarke Mosquito to report standing water or nuisance mosquito activity at (800) 942-2555. For faster service, go to the customer portal log-in at

You also have the option to opt out of treatments in front of your home.  Contact Clarke at 630-671-3109 to make the request.

The Three R’s to help reduce the number of mosquitoes around your home and protect yourself from being bitten.

REDUCE - Eliminate, or refresh each week, all sources of standing water where mosquitoes can breed, including water in bird baths, flowerpots, wading pools, old tires, and any other containers.

REPEL - Apply insect repellent that contains DEET, picaridin, oil of lemon eucalyptus or IR 3535, according to label instructions.

REPORT – Report locations where you see water sitting stagnant for more than a week such as roadside ditches, flooded yards, and similar locations that may produce mosquitoes.
