Finance and Budget

The Finance Department consist of the Village Treasurer and Staff Accountant.  The Village Treasurer maintains oversight of all department functions which include accounting, payroll, accounts receivables, accounts payables and investment of the Village’s financial assets. 

The Staff Accountant performs all daily accounting tasks including the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements for Board of Trustees presentations and is responsible to work closely with outside auditors on the Village’s annual audit.

The Staff Accountant also works closely with the Village Treasurer, Village Administrator, and Finance Chair of the Board of Trustees to develop the annual financial plan and budget.

As of February 2020, in recognition of the Village’s strong financial position, Moody’s Investor Services upgraded the Village of Lake Barrington’s general obligation unlimited tax (GOULT)  bonds rating to Aa1.
