Guidance for Businesses and Employers
Effective Friday, November 20, Governor J. B. Pritzker announced Tier 3 Mitigations will be imposed statewide. See the Restore Illinois Tier 3 Resurgence Mitigation FAQ. For more information about the Restore Illinois Plan, please see https://dceocovid19resources.com/restore-illinois.
Friday, January 8, Governor JB Pritzker signed a new Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation ( available via this link) extending the statewide declaration through Saturday, February 6, 2021. Additionally, Governor Pritzker signed Executive Order 2021-01 ( available via this link) to extend the Tier 3 enhanced mitigations.
Region 9 (Lake and McHenry counties only) Tier 1 enhanced mitigations go into effect on Saturday, October 31.
Prepare for Phase 4 of Restore Illinois
DCEO also has announced the creation of the Business Interruption Grant (BIG) program.
Applications for the second round of funding for the BIG program opens on Thursday, September 17.

Effective Aptil 1, 2020 employers must post a notice of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) requirements in a conspicuous place on its premises. All employers covered by the paid sick leave and expanded family medical leave provisions of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) (i.e., certain public sector employers and private sector employers with fewer than 500 employees) are required to post this notice.
Given many are working remotely, an employer may satisfy this requirement by emailing or direct mailing this notice to employees, or posting this notice on an employee information internal or external website.
